Reman Program

For decades, Poclain has been a strong advocate for sustainability, and we have enhanced our remanufacturing program to position the motors at the center of our circular model. Not only does it extend the products’ lifetime, but it also reduces waste and energy consumption. It provides a reliable alternative that generates savings for the end user, while maintaining quality and performance.

Lenka Kožiaková, Group Aftermarket Program Manager, champions Poclain’s Reman Program and has transformed it to increase its value to the customer. She explains its scope and how it operates.

Assessing the Reman program’s feasibility

Poclain’s reman services apply to MS motors size 05 and above. They operate in the Verberie, Yorkville, and Brno plants and are available to OEMs whose aftersales activity exceeds 50 units for a given part number. Before implementing a reman program with an OEM, the aftersales team inspects a batch of returned cores and checks whether they are fit for repair.

“A reman program makes sense if we can offer a 30% discount compared to first mount prices. 60% of the parts must be reusable,” Lenka Kožiaková says.

Poclain’s remanned motors are brought back to their original condition

“Quality is paramount in our remanned motors,” says Lenka Kožiaková. “The cores are repaired by senior technicians whose experience enables them to assess whether the parts need replacing or are fit for a second life.”

Poclain delivers a six to twelve-month warranty with every core it delivers. In addition, Lenka has introduced a new concept to Poclain’s reman program.

“When upgrades exist on a part number, we integrate them to the reman process. The cores we deliver are better than original”.

Mid-term, Lenka wants to push Poclain’s reman service further by associating it with Poclain’s Connectivity services. Sensors will alert the user that a motor needs servicing before it fails, and remanufacturing will shift from repairing to preventive care, thus lowering cost and extending the motor lifetime.
