In Brno we strive to offer you the best customer service, very short lead times for repairs, and preventive maintenance checks to be sure your motors are ready for the new season with a large stock of spare parts located in Brno… And Daniel will be one of the faces you will see!

If you have contacted our Brno, Czech Republic aftermarket operations, Daniel has probably had a hand in helping you out. Daniel has been with Poclain Hydraulics for six years, in almost every kind of aftermarket role possible. He knows Poclain Hydraulics products inside and out, and is here to share his experience and to give you insight into our aftermarket operations in Brno.

How did you start at Poclain?

I am originally from Prerov. I wanted to move to Brno, the 2nd biggest Czech Republic city, and I was looking for a job. Poclain fit the bill. I went from electronics aftermarket to hydraulics aftermarket.

I started at Poclain as a data specialist updating spare parts and customer kits’ bills of materials (BOMs). I handled drawing management, applying changes to aftermarket products. I encountered the whole spectrum of Poclain products from the information side. From there, the data specialist team split into two. One was in charge of BOMs, updates and product management. I took charge of the other team leading documentation creation and management.

What is your background?

I went to a school for computer technology and electronic programming. Then, I started in a repair center for mobile phones and tablets as a service technician eventually moving up to assistant manager. I gained experience working with end-customers. I later did procurement work for the company. The process was similar to what we do at Poclain, just with different products.

How did you end up moving to the aftersales service side?

I was doing data management, working behind a computer for four years and getting burned out a bit to be honest. The service manager position was more dynamic. At that point, I had only encountered the products via data. As the service manager, I could work with all the products in hand, and see with my own eyes.

Now you are the Aftermarket Operations Leader, what is your current mission/role?

I manage aftermarket operations. The workshop is still part of it, but also expedition and shipping to customers, and management of the store. Brno offers spare parts for the entire world and has the biggest stock of spare parts. Many things go through Brno or leave through Brno. Just in terms of physical space, our entire building is ½ expedition, workshop and offices and the 2nd half is stock.

Daniel and Team Mates – Poclain Hydraulics Brno

For a fun question – do you have anything to share to help our customers get to know you a bit better? Hobbies or interests outside of work?

For my hobbies or interests – I’ve started doing archery lately, that’s a lot of fun. Relaxing and engaging at the same time.

Interests, anything technical is my go to, from wrenching on cars, building computers, fixing mobile phones. I guess my background in fixing mobile electronics kinda stays with me, because people tend to bring me their tech to fix it or help them. Whether it is to change a broken screen or just fix wifi that does not want to connect. I’m happy to do it since it’s interesting and fun, sometimes nerve wracking as well (haha) at the same time!
