Power density of hydraulics

In the agricultural sector, the production of robots is progressing rapidly and the offer is expanding with increasingly efficient autonomous machines. The TRAXX is a perfect example, the result of joint work bringing together different trades and expertise around EXXACT Robotics. TRAXX is now available on the market. Mass-produced since spring, the autonomous vineyard straddle robot has been delivered to its first customers. It allows tillage and spraying in narrow vines.

Poclain, thanks to its hydraulic system, provides power density to the whole. Furthermore, weight is an important issue because the robot must be mounted on a trailer to move from one plot to another. As the TRAXX should not exceed 1.8 T, the choice fell on the lightest and most optimizable Poclain components, while respecting all the functionalities.

The TRAXX hydrostatic system designed by Poclain is composed of:

 

  • Four MS02 hydraulic wheel motors in permanent 4x4 mode
  • A PM10 hydrostatic electro proportional pump
  • A FDM2 flow divider valve for differential blocking
  • A steering assistance valve
